Application Instructions
Welcome:

This guide is designed to help you get the most out of the Weather Forecast and Air Quality Monitoring tools on the tugboatsoft.com platform.

Why We Built These Tools?

Our mission is to transform complex meteorological and environmental data into clear, reliable, and actionable intelligence. We are here to provide you with not just raw data, but meaningful visualizations for planning your daily activities, organizing your travel, or making informed decisions about your health and well-being.

Summary of Core Features:
  • Weather Forecast: Local & global, first 24 hours hourly & 14 day's daily forecast.
  • Air Quality Monitoring: Real-time United States Air Quality Index (AQI) and pollutant details.

What You Will Find in This Guide?

Weather Forecast Application

1.1. Purpose and Scope:

Our Weather Forecast application aims to provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date meteorological information for your location. It is designed to meet various needs such as commuting, outdoor activities, travel planning, and agricultural activities by providing hourly (for the next 24 hours), daily (14-day), and global (11 km² precision) forecasts.

1.2. Interface Components:
  1. Main Dashboard: Date and time, sky status, Current temperature, address, humidity, sunrise and sunset times, day time.
  2. Hourly Forecast Slider: Horizontally scrollable bar showing the next 24 hours hour by hour (Temprature, min/max temperature, precipitation probability, prevailing weather icon, wind direction and speed).
  3. Daily Forecast Cards: 14-day summary information (min/max temperature, prevailing weather icon).
1.3. Step-by-Step Usage:
  1. Enter a city, district, neighbourhood in the search bar,
  2. Click the "Search a Place Here" box or search icon button for automatic location detection,
  3. Sellect address below the opened list.
1.4. Interpreting Data:

What Does "Feels-Like Temperature" Mean?

It indicates how the actual temperature is perceived by the human body when combined with humidity and wind factors. High humidity makes the heat feel more oppressive, while strong wind makes cold air feel sharper.

Air Quality Monitoring Application

2.1. Purpose and Scope:

Our Air Quality Monitoring application aims to help protect your health by monitoring real-time concentrations of pollutants in the air you breathe. It provides critical information especially for those with respiratory diseases, the elderly, children, and those planning outdoor activities.

2.2. What is the Air Quality Index (AQI)? Colors and Meaning:

AQI is a measurement unit used to report daily air quality. It is evaluated US AQI on a scale of 0-500 :

  1. 0-50 (Green) - Good: Air quality is satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.
  2. 51-100 (Yellow) - Moderate: Air quality is acceptable. However, for some pollutants, there may be moderate health concerns for a very small number of people who are unusually sensitive.
  3. 101-150(Orange) - Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups: Sensitive groups may experience health effects. The general public is unlikely to be affected.
  4. 151-200 (Red) - Unhealthy: Everyone may begin to experience health effects. Sensitive groups may experience more serious effects.
  5. 201-300 (Purple) - Very Unhealthy: Health emergency conditions. The entire population may be affected.
  6. 301-500 (Maroon) - Hazardous: Health warning for the entire population.
2.3. Understanding Pollutant Types:
  1. PM2.5: Particles with a diameter of less than 2.5 micrometers. Can penetrate the lungs and bloodstream.
  2. PM10: Particles with a diameter of less than 10 micrometers. Affects the upper respiratory tract.
  3. Ozone (O₃): Formed at ground level as a result of sunlight and pollutant reactions. Irritates the airways.
  4. Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂): Originates from vehicle exhaust and industrial processes. Can trigger asthma attacks.
  5. Sulfur Dioxide (SO₂): Results from fossil fuel combustion. Causes respiratory system problems.
  6. Carbon Monoxide (CO): Colorless, odorless gas. Can be fatal at high levels.
2.4. Public Health Recommendations:

What to Do on a "Poor" (Red) or "Very Poor" (Purple) Day?

Sensitive Groups (asthma, heart disease, elderly, children, pregnant women):
  1. Limit or postpone outdoor activities
  2. Keep windows closed
  3. Use an air purifier
  4. Consult a doctor if you experience shortness of breath, cough, or dizziness
    General Public:
  1. Reduce prolonged or intense outdoor activities
  2. Take frequent breaks if working outdoors
  3. Consider wearing a mask outdoors (N95/FFP2 standard)
  4. Improve indoor air quality
    General Tips for All Users:
  1. Avoid going out during peak pollution hours (typically morning and evening traffic hours)
  2. Exercise indoors
  3. Drink plenty of fluids
  4. Set ventilation to "recirculation" mode while driving

Note: The recommendations in this guide are for general informational purposes only. If you have serious health problems or in emergency situations, always consult medical professionals. Air quality data is updated in real time; check the most current data before making important decisions.
